Kartopu Fattening Feed for Lamb

WAYFARER It is a lamb fattening feed, which is given to lambs during the fattening period as of their 7th day, which is delicious and has high digestibility, preventing the formation of urinary stones, providing lambs with rapid live weight gain, having rich vitamin-mineral content, which can be used for lambs up to the slaughter weight without causing digestive problems.

Kartopu Fattening Feed for Lamb

  • To achieve better live weight gain after birth in lambs, they should be healthy, they should be fed properly and optimum shed conditions should be ensured.
  • To raise live slaughter weight of lamb, mother should be fed properly in the period before birth. Humidity in lamb sheds should be at the level of 40-60% and the room temperature should be 15-18 ◦C.
  • Lambs survive with colostrums from their mother in the first 4 weeks after birth and gain weight. Additional live weight gain is ensured by using lamb feed with sufficient nutrient content during this period.
  • Lambs should consume approximately 250-350 g of lamb feed from the age of 4-day until slaughter period. This consumption can be increased up to 400-450 g until weaning.
  • Live weight of a lamb should be 17-18 kg in the period of weaning.

Usage

  • Lambs are fed by making Kartopu Lamb Feed Starter and water available for them from the age of 7-day.
  • Kartopu Lamb Fattening Feed may be used during the whole fattening period and it is a special feed that can also be used as Lamb Starter feed.
  • This feed should be made available for lambs for 24 hours until lambs are sent for slaughtering. This feed should not be supplied to lambs once every 24 hrs.
  • It should be supplied as fresh in 3-6 meals during the day.
  • If lambs’ feed need for 24 hours is made available at once, feed is dusted because the lamb continuously plays with its mouth and then, consumption reduces. This causes a decrease in the lamb’s daily weight increase and it delays in achieving slaughter weight.
  • Clean and warm water should be made available in the amount that they can drink for 24 hrs in their divisions. It should be ensured during this period that they suckle their mother freely.
  • As coarse feed, chopped hay in the length of 1.5-2 cm or high quality alfalfa with abundant leaves may be started to be fed with feed and they may be made available freely after the end of the age of 5-week.
  • Lambs may go for grazing after the first 1 month.
  • It should be ensured that lamb herds including approximately 150-200 animals graze separately from their mothers.
  • Lambs born in winter cannot graze. Thus, they should be provided with high quality hay or dry alfalfa herbs.
